Digital Microscope for In-line SMT Electronics Inspection

Digital Microscope for In-line SMT Electronics Inspection

Data Sheets and Resources

Description

F40s Full HD Digital Microscope with Articulated Arm for In-Line Inspection (over conveyor).

The F40s Advanced Digital Microscope is designed to cover the key every increasing demands of modern PCB assembly within Electronics Manufacturing.

This solution offers a free floating 3-axis articulated arm allowing the F40s Digital Microscope to be pulled forward when needed for in process checks.
Typically used for pre-soldering inspection applications, used before the SMT reflow oven process to ensure critical parts are acceptable before they are soldered.
Pre-reflow inspection of the PCB saves costly rework at a later stage.
Can be used as a first article inspection tool for new product introduction, for the first board in every build to improve quality results without impacting on production yields, or for every board where known component placement issues can be quickly checked prior to reflow.

The F40s creates vivid Full HD video at 60 fps and low latency with fast auto-focusing and with a 226 mm free working distance the F40s offers the user a completely free working area for inspection, with the arm easily pushed back and away from the conveyor inspection area when not in use.
The system’s standard optics produces 2.5x – 100x magnification (on 28” monitor) maintaining high image quality across the entire field of view and, if further magnification is needed, a wide range of macro Lenses can be added to significantly increase magnification, up to 1130x equal to x400 optical magnification or 0.53mm field of view.

Breakthrough Image Quality

In addition to its high frame rate, F40s sensor provides higher sensitivity and a higher dynamic range than previous FHD cameras.
Industry-leading signal processing with exceptional flicker and flare reduction for best image quality.

Common Inspection Applications

Goods-In Inspection – Bare board (Blank PCB) goods-in inspection prior to assembly, essential for high value critical builds
Small Parts, Critical Component and Assembly Inspection at Goods-in

Pre-Reflow Inspection – PCBA Inspection prior to SMT Reflow or any automated soldering process (vapour-phase, wave-solder/selective solder)
Whether First Article, Batch or Full (100%) board inspection it’s much easier to fix issues before you solder them

Live Video for Soldering and Rework – Large working distance and lag-free LIVE video (60fps) the F40s offers a great solution for soldering, rework and repair applications.
It can also replace traditional microscopes and inspection viewers for micro assembly applications, offering high magnification, a large working distance (226mm) and a large field of view

Solder Joint and Final PCBA Inspection – Solder Joint and Final Inspection of the Printed Circuit Board Assembly prior to test and assembly.
With higher magnification than standard microscopes, stereoscopic viewers and simple light magnifiers the F40s (up to x100 magnification) can be used for detailed inspection of the smallest components and solder joints.

Assembly and Final Product Inspection – Trap known assembly, Box-Build and Final Product Assembly issues by inspecting at key stages to ensure critical parts are assembled correctly and in the correct orientation

New 360 Degree Rotating Viewer offers a new Angle on Inspection

Top down inspection with good lighting can provide excellent video for the user, but for an even better view the New 360 Degree Rotating Viewer allows an instant switch to a 32 degree angle, with 360 degree rotation.
Now you really can see everything!

Designed for Ergonomic Use

Inspectis Digital Microscope systems provide and major Ergonomic benefit compared to using traditional microscopes and stereo viewers.

Relief to eyes, neck and shoulders through the unique ergonomic design allow the user to sit in a comfortable, good working position which improves concentration and ensures inspection tasks can be carried out more efficiently.

Incorporating the F40s in to any specialised inspection area is easy

We have a huge range of stands, fixtures and X-Y gantry systems for the F40s PCB inspection camera which allows you to place your inspection exactly where you need it
